The Telepathy of Social Media

I think social media is humanities first step toward telepathy. I can only hope that by the time the goal is achieved that humanity had adapted. We are going thru the growing pains. The societal adjustments required for living in a hive mind.

We are the Borg. We will perfect our assimilation.

I listen to lots of people on the net. “When I was younger” I hear all the time. There is no comparison between now and any prior era. The internet changed everything.

For the first time everybody has access to mankind’s vast wealth of knowledge, (well most of it anyway).

For the first time everybody has access to everybody else’s opinions

A society without these things would be excited at the prospect while a large percentage of the society that does live with these things will tell you it isn’t going well for humanity and there is no easy fix.

‘Turn it off’ I hear some say. Nope. That genie smashed his bottle on the way out.

‘Limit access’. Whats that Leia saying? “The more you tighten your grip, the more will slip through your fingers.” (I’ve butchered it to fit).

Here in Australia they are trying to limit social media access to under 16’s. I think it is a good idea but I don’t think they will be successful. As an adult I find it very dangerous to start trying to limit peoples access to information.

Who determines what is mis and /or dis information? One persons lie is another’s truth.

There is the ‘official’ truth and then there is ‘The Truth’. I have found that far too often the two are not the same.

We live in difficult times and I fear things are going to get much, much worse.

It is good to see that these problems are being seriously tackled by the Trump Administration. They say what happens to America happens to us all…eventually. I must say I am a bit concerned about the direction Australia seems to be taking. We need a charismatic leader to step up and take helm.

We have our own E-Nazty who once tried to stop everyone, everywhere from viewing something She deemed inappropriate. She failed miserably and slunk off to the corner for a while. Unfortunately she had been busy in the shadows and now they have their under 16 restrictions starting soon.

All the fools who agreed with the obvious hook will rue the day they gave their internet rights away. Your Digital ID will rule your existence. Upset the wrong person or group and see how quick the noose around your neck is tightened.

Which brings me back to social media. Your nice shiny Digital ID will become a complete record of your mind set. Who you listen to and what you say can and will be held against. Your entire life will be out there for everyone to see and react to.

Guard your digital footprint like you would your mind if telepathy was the norm.
