Bus Reno – 2
In 2014 we bought a bus, renovated it and then lived in it for nearly 3 years. I have re-created this Bus Reno series from a previous website I closed.
As we wanted to move into the bus as soon as possible we had quite a task ahead of us to get it to a livable level. We’re not into fancy. In fact the more stuff I can ‘recycle’ the happier I am. I am so over the need to have everything new. Not even sure I like the modern look. It’s so sterile.
I had some full length curtains tucked away that were still in good condition so I halved them all, sewed on some new tape and hay presto enough curtains to cover both sides of the bus. I put two drops of maroon curtains at the back for the bedroom and the rest are green. The photo doesn’t do the color justice. The green is a nice pine shade.

I didn’t want to have to spend a lot of money on the curtains because most of them were going to get removed as we build down the bus. The last job will be to re-do the windows in drop down/top up blinds. They’re gonna look great!
Having never lived this small before we have decided to plan on 2 renovations. The 1st one to get us living in the bus then we can plan the 2nd reno carefully utilizing all available space while giving ourselves plenty of floor space as well.
We have parked the bus where can stay for as long as we like so we have a 5 year plan. Mechanically the bus goes but it is unregistered so we’re not going anywhere soon. I suspect the bus will never go anywhere but who knows. Have bus could move. Only time will tell.
